Apple juice is a delicious and refreshing drink that I like to make my family a few times a year
I do plan to get a steam juicer at some time, but for now I use a machine that has a few attachments, including a juicer
I definitely like it for the price!
What are the best apples for apple juice?
The sweeter the apple, the better the juice
I like to use Fuji apples, but you can use Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, or Gala apples too
If you use a less sweet apple, you will either have less sweet juice or need to add a sweetener
What do I do with the pulp left over after juicing?
I strive to waste as little as possible
I actually tend to make this juice so I can have the pulp at the end!
It works perfect for my apple fritters recipe
But you can also make applesauce or fruit leather
Have fun and see what you can make!
Ingredients:
10 Fuji apples
8 cups Filtered water
Instructions:
Start by removing any stickers from your apples and wash them well
Remove the cores of each apple and cut into slices small enough to fit your juicer
Turn on the juicer and slowly add each apple slice
Once done, you should have about a half gallon, or 8 cups, of pure juice
Take a spoon and remove the foam from the top of the juice
Then add a 1 to 1 ratio of water to the juice
If there are 8 cups of juice, then add 8 cups of water
This is to taste so check it sometimes to see if you like it. You may want more or less water
But a 1 to 1 ratio is perfect for my family
Enjoy your juice!
Don’t forget to save the pulp and make sourdough apple fritters!
